My sofa is gorgeous! The velvet is a beautiful rich quality and the colour is perfect. Natalie put so much skill into it with the intricate sewing and pleating around each of the buttons. She is a very talented lady and clearly passionate in what she does. It was a much better outcome than buying a new sofa - and it also feels great to recycle.

About Natalie
Hi and welcome to Butterfly Upholstery. I'm Natalie McCurry.
After leaving retail to look after my children I decided to re-train in Upholstery. I have always enjoyed sewing and loved my manual Singer sewing machine which my mum bought
for me when I was 11.
After I had completed a few evening classes at college for soft furnishing, I decided that I wanted to find a new career path that I could use and enjoy my sewing skills. A friend gave me a business card from Wendy Shorter Interiors, and the rest as they say, is history.
I completed my AMU Level 2 in July 2009 and was then able to start Level 3 that September along with doing work experience with NC Contracts based in Hertford.
In September 2013 Wendy asked me to join her teaching staff to teach one of the recreational evening classes which has been a real experience as you never know what your students are going to bring in.
Now have a fully up and running workshop in my garden and am enjoying working full time with my own clients to their furniture some needed TLC.
